Help - 16 Week 'Balance'

HELP
(HEARTFULNESS- EXPERIENCE LIFE’S POTENTIAL)
Topic - BALANCE

Shri Kamlesh . D. Patel

Shri Kamlesh Patel, The Global Guide of Heartfulness says “Sleep Early if you can. In fact, if you can discipline your sleep cycles it will change your life. If you want to develop yourself, adjust your sleep patterns, otherwise you will struggle with this fundamental thing all your life.”

his aspect of our life refers to matters that deal with feelings and the subtle aspects of life. Our heart is the place where feelings of love, joy, compassion, empathy, friendship, caring and sharing, and deep inner peace resides.

What is Balance?

balance is to maintain a “steady and stable” state so as to prevent someone or something from falling off.

What happens when you lose balance?
When riding a bicycle, what is needed to maintain balance. It’s obvious that when we lose balance, we fall and things collapse. We must move forward to keep our balance. As this saying goes, Life is like riding a Bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.

The key to our personal growth and well-being is in applying the 3H formula: The Health, the Head and the Heart. Let us look at the '3H' in a little more details.

·         The first H refers to a balanced physical Health. With respect to the physical health, equal importance must be given to the following aspects.

Government junior College Madhurawadaon
·         Healthy eating: A balanced diet rich in fruit, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy is key to healthy eating habits because it provides everyone with the nutrients they need to grow.

·         Quality Sleep: Sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being throughout your life. During sleep, your body is working to support healthy brain function and maintain your physical health. In children and teenagers, sleep also helps support growth and development.

Mind and body together makes a man holistic and a balanced person. The state of mind reflects in the body and vice versa.

HELP - 16 - WEEKS Goals and Aspiration

Heartfulness & Life Skills sessions
Intermediate Students – Andhra Pradesh
Session 1 – Goals & Aspirations

Help Program is the first largest program in India of its kind

Arise, Awake and stop not,
Till the Goal is reached” – Swami Vivekananda

Success is like the tip of an iceberg.
What is seen above is very little.
 But what is not seen,
are the hidden qualities, which brought about this success?
 To name a few-
Hard work, Discipline, Persistence, Sacrifice and the ability to face failures.

A ‘Goal’ is the answer to the following 3 questions:
What do I want to do in my life?
Whom do I want to be like?
What do I want to become?

Is there a difference between goals and wishes?
These terms mean that we want some desired result - but there is a difference.
A ‘wish’ is just a desire.

Goal has a plan of action.
This plan should answer the following W H Questions.
Where, When, What, Who, Why and How
A Plan with appropriate skills and effort results in success.

What’s the difference between ambition and aspiration? When you are ambitious, you are bent on achieving your goal under any circumstance.
Ambition can make you achieve your goals using shortcuts and wrong methods.
We don’t care if others suffer in the process of achieving our goals.
In ambition the destination is more important than the path one takes to achieve it.

  ‘Aspiration!

It is the right way to go about achieving your goals.
To aspire is to pay attention to
   Competence, excellence, sympathy and values
   In aspiration the

'path or the process adopted to achieve one’s goal is more important than the goal itself'.

This topic of 'Goals and Aspirations' has been covered in 'Prakasham District' , 'East Godawari' under HELP – Vol – 2 So far in the following colleges and schools;

Help - Volume- 2 In Chittoor District

Heartfulness Experience Life’s Potential Program
Time – Management

86,400 seconds credited in the morning every day in all our accounts.
We are permitted to use all the seconds within 24 hours.
Can’t carry forward any unused seconds!

How to manage Time:

“No matter how busy you think you are; you can always take on more.”
All that you need to do is to set the order in which you must do your activities.

“First things first”

The first step in using time wisely is to write a ‘To do list’.
What is a “To do list”?
'TO-DO LIST' are planning tools. It is a check list.
It helps us to navigate the day’s or week’s activities and manage our responsibilities.

Tips for Effective Time Management

- Prioritize your activities with time lines
- Have buffer time while planning
- Note the Tasks on a calendar
- Energize yourself – Nutritious food, yoga, exercises, Relaxation & Meditation
- Most important – Be active & use time wisely.

There is a beautiful quote which says,

“The bad news is that ‘Time Flies’.
The good news is that you are the pilot”.
How very appropriate and true!

Time may fly but remember that we are the pilots managing the flight of our lives efficiently.

The Heartfulness practice of meditation helps in regulating the mind and the rejuvenation technique helps us to bring management of time and to do task in efficient manner.

Heartfulness Education's Initiative

KGBV Hirapur, PANCHMAHAL.
India is the land of Vedas and Shastras. In this holy land, women have always been permitted and encouraged being educated. For the example, in the  Hindu religion, Saraswati, the Goddess of education who is embodied as the bestower of education and wisdom holds the classical instrument, Veena in one hand and the bundle of Vedas in the other hand. This actively signifies the ,dynamism and engagement of women in the field of education.
In ancient times when the Aryans ruled India, it was the golden period of education of women. Women had a lot of privileges then, but in due course of time due to the conservative rulers of the particular era, all rights were taken away from women unfortunately. They had to undergo a harsh and critical situation. Women had to face a lot of social injustice during that period, and needless to say, education took a backseat.

Even after 72 years of the Indian Independence, according to a report by the United Nations, more than 39%[PR1]  of our country’s rural population are deprived a school education. Moreover, 17 million girls [PR2] are expected to never get to school.
It is to be noted that most women located especially in rural and tribal areas struggle for a basic education. According to UNESCO, education system is deprived of educational and social dimensions of growth, apart from the training of teachers. There is a need for a bridge here to not only train teachers and impart value based education for children, but also to remove an inadequacy in our educational system.
Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya is a noble initiative in India by the Government of Gujarat state. With the sole objective of removing inequality in education, the Heartfulness Education Trust is supplementing this splendid endeavour of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya by facilitating training to teachers of heart centred education and other skills required to be a heartful teacher.

[PR1]I couldn’t find data from the internet or UN reports from UN’s site to validate this. Kindly check it.

The response / feedback of SSA Office – Government of Gujarat :-
The response & feedback was very good and encouraging. They were very happy to learn that HFN Institute has started visiting schools and started conducting Meditation Sessions.
They were so happy that they offered to cover all remaining 160 locations of KGBV having only Hostel facility. However, after giving a good thought on our strength, we decided to include 14 locations of KGBV where only Hostel facility is there. We cannot roll out THW Curriculum at these locations but relaxation for students and meditation for Teachers can be offered.
Further, two "only Hostel"  type schools are converted into "With Hostel" type from this year. Hence there will be now total 67 KGBV Schools with Hostel Facility.

HELP – VOL – 2

Teamwork and Collaboration

how a group of people can work together to achieve a greater common goal?

236 students of Govt junior college palaka, Chittoor District.
The answer is very simple. You must have seen football match or hockey match or cricket match. Have you ever noticed what is behind their victory or loss, the approach which plays it and execute, this is the idea of team and power of team work.

Helen Keller, the most famous activist for the disabled said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”.

Teamwork:
Teamwork is defined as co-operation between those who are working on a task. It is generally understood as the willingness of a group of people to “work together” to achieve a “common aim / The word TEAM stands for Together, Everyone, Achieves, More. Think of the times when you have worked in a team either at school, or in your colony, at your home, or at any other places.

Collaboration:
Is collaboration same as teamwork? In collaboration, individuals are partners that share work as well as ideas and insights. While competition is good, collaboration is better.
Let us understand the difference between competition and collaboration. In the spirit of competition, some succeed and some fail. Whereas in the spirit of collaboration, the focus is more on how we work together as a team and contribute to the overall success, rather than individual success

How does an individual benefit from being part of a team or a collaboration?

“The spirit of collaboration says, we come together and win together.”

An intense level of coordination and collaboration within the team has to be maintained always to succeed.

Now, in teamwork, individuals perform their own roles to contribute to the achievement of a goal. But, in collaboration, it is one step further.
in a Competition, the idea of ‘me’ and ‘you’ still exists. While in Collaboration, the ‘me’ and ‘you’ merge into the idea of ‘us’, which is most dominant, promoting unity, harmony and a sense of sharing within teams

This topic of 'Team Work and Collaboration' has been covered under HELP – Vol – 2 So far in Sri Chaitanya Jr College, Vivekananda college, CNR College, Mahatma Jr College,Narayana College, SS Arts and Science College,Shrivenkateshawara, Balayogi Gurukul School,Baptala Polytechnic College,Shri Gayatri Ramatalkies, and 35 other colleges in Chittoor, Kurnool, Prakasham, Srikakulam, Vijayawada,40 colleges of Kadapa, Krishna, Guntur, Godavari and rest all districts of A.P.
